BEAUTY AND PLEASURE: KNOWING EACH OTHER

Mighty Aphrodite Rising Out Of The Sea Foam by Henry Courtney Selous

Between us are many levels of knowing.

In our knowing the familiar move

 away from “either or”

and closer to “yes and.”

Aphrodite rises in lush water

spending herself in sea foam

straddling

wave crested

shores.

She sits in the middle

between

one and two

on

three!

Knowing each other

demands inclusion

of everything

we are

and

are not.
